15 Pro Tips for Dominating With Evolved Skeletons

Evolved skeletons have risen as one of the top meta cards in Clash Royale after recent updates. Their ability to infinitely spawn skeletons on the field can overwhelm opponents in seconds. Are you struggling to defend against evolved skeletons? Or looking to better utilize them in your own deck?

I’ve tested evolved skellies extensively over the past few months. Today I’ll be sharing my best pro strategies to either counter this pesky card or unleash its full devastating potential on the arena.

Let’s bone up!

Introduction to Using Evolved Skeletons

Before jumping into the tips, let’s do a quick overview of evolved skeletons for any newcomers.

  • Unlocked in Arena 15 from the Season 12 Evolution update
  • Spawns 7 skeletons initially, then 2.5 per second afterwards
  • Skeletons spawn with 33% increased hitpoints and damage
  • Hard counters a wide variety of ground troops and buildings
  • Extremely versatile on defense and offense

Below I’ve highlighted the key stats for evolved skeletons:

Elixir Cost1
RarityEpic
TypeSpell
Arena15

Now let’s get into the game-changing tips for mastering this card!

#1: Completely Counter Goblin Barrel

We’ve all raged at goblin barrel bait decks. Evolved skeletons are the perfect counter to deny all tower damage against sneaky barrels.

Time your skeleton placement on the highlighted center tile right as the barrel is launched. All 3 goblins will immediately lock onto your skeletons instead of the tower. Then they’ll die quick from the evolving skeleton horde counter attack.

This denies any chip damage for a big 1 elixir value play.

#2: Beat Royal Recruits on One Side

Facing down a Royal Recruits beatdown push? Do not split your evolved skeletons against Recruits!

Keeping them contained on one side allows your skellies to stay alive much longer and build overwhelming numbers against their single target.

Conversely, splitting them across multiple Recruits will lead to sad little skellies getting smashed to pieces. Focus fire them on one instead!

#3: Ice Spirit + Skellies = Tower Rush Threat

One of my favorite evolved skeleton offensive tactics is pairing them with ice spirit for a fast bridge rush.

Simply wait for your opponent to be low on elixir, then go ice spirit tanking + evolved skellies right at the bridge.

If they lack proper counters in hand, this deadly combo can THREE CROWN in seconds flat! Ice spirit stuns and freezes while skellies shred everything in sight.

#4: Effective Vs Electro Giant Beatdown

Evolved skeletons are the perfect counter to frustrating Electro Giant decks. They endlessly spawn around EG’s zap range, doing high DPS while ignoring all its disruption effects.

While they won’t completely deny Electro Giant, evolved skellies still provide insane value for one elixir. Allowing you to build big counterpushes as EG drops quick!

#5: Split Them for Map Pressure

Unlike against Recruits, splitting your evolved skeletons across both lanes applies massive pressure on your opponent.

Forcing them to defend both sides at once spreads their attention too thin. Often they won’t have the right counter readily available leading to big damage on a tower.

Many battles are won off simply splitting skellies!

#6: Delete Mega Knight with Positive Trade

Does mega knight constantly crush your pushes? Skeletons are here to save the day!

Properly timed evolved skeletons placed around MK will fully counter him for a positive 1 elixir trade. Surround and overwhelm is the name of the game!

Helplessly watch MK flail away with tiny range as skellies chew through his chunky HP. Feels good man!

#7: Change Up Placement

Keep opponents guessing by switching up your evolved skeleton placements versus traditional 1 elixir skellies on defense.

If you normally counter win conditions in certain spots, use different ones with your evolved skellies.

This added unpredictability makes it much harder for them to spell down your skeleton swarm. Gotta keep them on their toes!

#8: Stop Little Prince Charges

The prominent Log Prince card is easily handled by evolved skeletons. Simply wait for him to use his unstoppable charge, THEN spawn skellies.

The first skeleton wave soaks up Little Prince’s dash damage. Then successive skeletons continually overwhelm him from all angles.

Little Prince struggles heavily trying to bonk away endless walls of skellies with tiny range!

#9: Play Aggressive with Evolved Support

Take smart risks if you have evolved skeletons ready on defense. Play aggressively to force opponents into overcommitting.

When they dump heavy offense expecting little counterplay, surprise them with evolved skellies cleaning up for positive trades.

Then unleash deadly evolved skeleton fueled counterpushes!

#10: Sneak Evolved Skellies For Tower Finishing Blows

On finishing off secondary towers, evolved skeletons can get real sneaky.

If opponents are turtling with buildings, play skellies opposite lane to bypass many defenses.

They split three ways at the bridge applying map-wide pressure. Usually your opponent can’t address all waves fast enough before a tower drops!

#11: Spread Wide When Going For Triple Crown

The best evolved skeleton late game tactic is splitting them wide along the entire river length when going for triple crown victory.

This typically splits skellies into three separate groups, very difficult to address with splash units and spells since they can only target 1 wave at a time. Unstoppable!

Once 1 wave locks onto a tower, it’s GAME OVER!

#12: Shut Down Graveyard

Annoyed by constant graveyard chip damage freezing your towers? Evolved skellies provide the answer yet again!

Well timed placement right as enemy skeletons spawn will effectively distract the entire graveyard. Countering them before more than 1-2 swings connects.

Positive trades for days even if they try poisoning your skellies!

#13: Watch Out For Mother Witch

The ONE card that can really shut down your evolved skeleton army is Mother Witch. Her cursed hog spawn wrecks skeleton waves.

Always keep small spells like zap or arrows ready in your pocket. Take her down fast if she appears then resumed skellie domination!

#14: Destroy Enemy Tanks Fast

Despite fragile appearance, evolved skeletons tear down enemy mega knights, pekkas and golems with shocking efficiency. Unleash the skellie flood onto tanks and watch their HP bars disintegrate!

DPS goes through the roof fully ignoring splash units behind to quickly dismantle key targets. All for one elixir!

#15: Don’t Fear Using Regular Skeletons Too

Evolved skeletons are awesome, but the original 1-elixir skellies still have great utility also! Use them freely for pulling, splitting, surrounding, and other textbook techniques.

Don’t get overeager holding evolved ones for giant value plays. Mix both types together to keep opponents guessing!

Conclusion

And there you have it my friends—the complete evolved skeleton domination blueprint! Did you find these tips helpful? Have any other juicy starts I’m missing? Let me know in the comments!
